Huntingdon reviewed by Harrisburg: Raystown Lake is ‘cool’
Harrisburg’s The Patriot-News recently reviewed why Huntingdon, PA was voted the coolest small town in Pennsylvania and why Huntingdon, PA was voted the fifth coolest town in the nation.
What’s cool?
The lake: Raystown Lake, 28 miles long, is especially cool for Harrisburg.
Eagles: There are four eagle nests near the lake this year, and 17 of our fine feathered friends can be spotted soaring around.
Fishing: One of the best fightin’ fish — striped bass — is stocked in the lake. Stripers can grow to 53 pounds and live for 25 years. There are trout streams, too; Jimmy Carter comes here to fish.

Old News, but it’s GOOD News..
Recently, Huntingdon, PA was voted the 5th Coolest Town in the United States. Here is what one reader wrote
“Located along the Juniata River, the town is the center of culture and business in Huntingdon County. The antique trains on the East Broad Top Railroad tour will take you back to the time of coal-fueled steam engines. Visit Juniata College’s Baker Peace Chapel, a granite circle that sits atop a secluded hill, which was designed by artist and architect Maya Lin. In the evening, dine at Boxer’s Café, a local favorite for a large selection of microbrews and live music. The home-cooked meals appeal to many and include vegetarian options. Drop by Mimi’s, a cosmopolitan restaurant and bar known for its desserts and martinis—and dessert martinis.”
